Slemish Mountain in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It lies a few miles east of Ballymena, . Tradition holds that Saint Patrick, enslaved as a youth, was brought to this area and tended sheep herds on Slemish.
It wasquite a while from the time I first discovered this tree until conditions were right for the picture I had in mind and even thn it workd out better than i could have hoped.
I left home but when i got to the location the heavens opened and there was torrential rain . if anyone saw me sitting there with tripod and a large sheet of plastic covering the camera they might have thought me insane, and to be honest i had my own doubts.
The suddenly the rain stopped and for just a minute or so there was this burst of sunlight which created this wonderful bright band across the scene. I managed to take only a couple of shots before the rain appeared again but those shots made the day worthwhile
